DATA PROTECTION CLAUSE

Oriental Matto Oy is committed to protecting the privacy of users of its services, such as its website, in accordance with the Personal Data Act (523/1999) and other applicable legislation. This privacy statement describes what kind of information is collected about the user of the services, what the information is used for and what influence the user has over that information and how it is collected.

By using our services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Statement. If you do not agree to these terms, you will not be entitled to use our services.

2. WHO CAN COLLECT INFORMATION?

Oriental Matto Oy collects information about the users of its services. Essentially, personal information is collected from the user himself or herself when he or she uses the Services, for example, when submitting a contact request. In addition, third parties may also collect information through cookies. Third parties can be, for example, measurement service providers cooperating with Oriental Matto Oy. In our online services we use e.g. Google Analytics to measure the use of our online services. Third parties, such as Google Analytics, may set cookies on a user’s device to collect information about, for example, traffic to websites. The information may also be used to target advertising to the user’s likely interests.

Our online services may use community-based “Like” or “Share” buttons such as LinkedIn, Facebook, or Twitter. Such community-related buttons may appear on our services, but their content comes directly from the button’s source. The social plugin on our service recognizes that the user is logged in to that service, in which case the page will display customized content in the plugin. Community plug-ins do not display customized content if the user is not signed in to that service. Community-based services may collect information about a visitor’s visit in accordance with their applicable privacy policies. These services do not disclose the information they collect to Oriental Matto Oy.

3. WHERE CAN THE INFORMATION COLLECTED BE USED?

We only process the personal data we collect for pre-defined purposes, in particular the following:

Customer service

With the information we collect, we want to improve customer service by recommending content that is of interest to the user and facilitating transactions by providing the most personal service possible.

To provide and develop services

The information we collect allows us to implement our services and to personalize and develop them and their user experience.

For sales targeting

The information collected allows us to target services that may be of interest to the user using various communication channels.

4. HOW WILL THE DATA COLLECTED BE STORED AND FOR HOW LONG?

The information collected is stored in databases that are protected by, among other things, firewalls, encryption technologies, and limited access control and access rights. In addition, we use the necessary organizational security measures to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, destruction, or other unauthorized processing. Such security measures include the instruction of personnel involved in the processing of personal data and the careful selection of subcontractors.

Oriental Matto Oy and companies belonging to the same group may process personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act in force at the time. We may also partially outsource the processing of personal data to a third party, in which case we guarantee through contractual arrangements that the personal data will be processed in accordance with the Personal Data Act and otherwise in an appropriate manner. If we transfer data outside the EU or the European Economic Area, we will ensure an adequate level of protection of personal data, including by agreeing on matters relating to the confidentiality and processing of personal data as required by law, such as standard contract clauses approved by the European Commission.

6. WILL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION BE DISCLOSED TO THIRD PARTIES?

Maripa Oy does not sell, rent or disclose the personal data of an identified user to third parties in cases other than those described below.

  • We may disclose your information to third parties if you have given your consent.
  • We may disclose your personal information as required by the competent authorities or other parties, based on applicable law.
  • If we sell, buy, merge or otherwise organize our business, your personal information may be disclosed to buyers and their advisors.

7. COOKIES

We may collect information about the user’s terminal using cookies and other similar technologies, such as the browser’s local data warehouse. A cookie is a small text file that a browser stores on a user’s terminal. Cookies often contain an anonymous, unique identifier that allows us to identify and count the browsers that visit our site.

8. WHAT POSSIBILITIES DOES THE USER HAVE?

We are committed to providing our users with privacy choices and control. Below we list the various ways in which our Users may interact with the collection and processing of information.

Verification of information

The user has the right to check the personal data stored about him. The user can also request the editing or deletion of incorrect information. If you wish to verify your stored personal information, please contact us using the contact details provided in Section 10 (Contact Us).

Clear and block cookies

The user can clear the cookies stored in their browser from the browser settings. The user can also completely block the storage of cookies in their browser settings. However, blocking cookies may affect the functionality and usability of our online services.

Prevent advertising from being targeted

The user has the option to block third-party advertising from being targeted based on their online behavior. Blocking ad targeting does not affect the number of ads displayed, but the content of the ads displayed. Third-party advertising can be blocked here (Your Online Choices).

Prohibition of electronic direct marketing

You may prohibit electronic direct marketing by contacting us in accordance with Section 10 (Contact Us) or by withdrawing your consent using this option as part of our marketing communications (the “opt-out” principle).

Deletion of data

If you wish, we may delete all information about you. To delete data, send a deletion request from the email address where you want the data to be deleted. The request must be placed at the webstore (at) orientalmatto.fi After receiving the request, you will receive a delete link in your email.

9. UPDATING OF THE PRIVACY CLAUSE

We are constantly developing our services and reserve the right to change this privacy statement, as applicable, by notifying us of our services. Changes may also be based on changes in legislation. We recommend that you review the privacy statement at regular intervals.
